Alghabra appointed key role: Official Opposition Critic for

Citizenship and Immigration

OTTAWA - Today, Stéphane Dion, Leader of the Official Opposition, announced the appointment of Omar Alghabra, Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Erindale, as Official Opposition Critic for Citizenship and Immigration. Mr. Dion redefined roles for MPs in the Liberal caucus. This new structure will ensure that the government is held accountable and that their policies are reflective of the needs of Canadians.

"I am delighted by this appointment and I look forward to this important position on our Dream Team," said Alghabra. "The immigration file is vital to the success of our country and I intend on approaching it in a creative and constructive way."
